( 02 ) Why this matters

Visitors can spot stock photography in 0.4 seconds.

There is nothing more visually identical than the stock-photography directories that B2B websites have collectively been buying from for fifteen years. Two specific image series — diverse-team-around-laptop and woman-pointing-at-whiteboard — have appeared on roughly 40% of the company websites we audited last quarter. Visitors recognize them. They know your office doesn't look like that. The photography is the credibility leak.

What replaces it isn't a one-time gallery — it's a documentary day. We embed a single photographer (plus an assistant) in your office for a day and shoot like a magazine assignment. Standups, focused work, hallway moments, lunch lines, the in-office gym, the dog. The deliverable is 120+ edited stills organized by category, ready to be slotted into the About page, careers page, blog cards, social, and recruiting decks for a year or more.

The look is consistent and editorial — natural window light wherever possible, controlled fill where not. Skin tones are color-managed to a calibrated reference. The result is a coherent visual identity, not a collection of phone snapshots from the engineering offsite.

( 03 ) What's included

A year's worth of company imagery in a day.

Every engagement is fixed-scope and fixed-price. The list below ships with every project regardless of tier.

  • 01 / 8

    Documentary embed

1 photographer + 1 assistant on-site for a full or half-day, working from a pre-built shot list of moments to capture.

  • 02 / 8

    Available-light primary

Window light first; LED fill (Aputure 200x bounced into a 5-in-1) only when needed. No flash. No overlit corporate look.

  • 03 / 8

    Categorized library

120+ edited stills sorted by category: meetings, focused work, hallway, exterior, details, and culture moments.

  • 04 / 8

    Web + social crops

Every key still delivered in 16:9, 3:2, 4:5, 1:1, and 9:16 — pre-cropped for the modern social and CMS landscape.

  • 05 / 8

    Editorial color grade

Color graded to a calibrated reference — warm, true skin tones, natural midtones. No teal-and-orange. No oversaturated office green.

  • 06 / 8

    Lifestyle direction

Light direction only — we don't pose. Most subjects don't notice we're shooting until they see the gallery.

  • 07 / 8

    Detail kit

Macro detail shots — products on desks, branded materials, swag, plant moments. The texture-making images that hold blog cards together.

  • 08 / 8

    Annual usage rights

Perpetual, worldwide, unlimited usage — web, recruiting, paid social, and print. Yours forever.

Client note

Our About page used to make me wince. After Signal's day with us, we threw out every stock image. The page now looks like the company I actually work at.

We embed in B2B company offices across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Jersey City — Manhattan neighborhoods like SoHo, Tribeca, Flatiron, Chelsea, Hudson Yards, and Midtown are our weekly territory; Brooklyn neighborhoods like Williamsburg and DUMBO are 30 minutes from our two studios. ( 07 ) FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

Don't see your question? Email the studio.

Do we need to clean up the office before the shoot?

Less than you think. A working office is more visually believable than a staged one — we want the laptops open, the whiteboards full, the standing desk at standing height. We do ask that you tidy snack tables and remove anything competing brand-wise that you wouldn't want on social. Otherwise: don't art-direct the workspace, just live in it.

Will my team mind being photographed?

We send a pre-shoot heads-up email template to your People team. Anyone who prefers not to be on camera is photographed only in B-roll (back of head, hands, environment) or excluded entirely. We're documentary, not invasive — most teams forget we're there within 30 minutes.

How is this different from team headshots?

Headshots are individual editorial portraits — controlled lighting, single backdrop, cohesive grid. Lifestyle photography is documentary — natural light, real moments, captured candidly. Many clients book a half-day of headshots in the morning and a half-day of lifestyle in the afternoon for full coverage.

Can you photograph product details and branded materials?

Yes. We always carry a 100mm macro and a small product-shot kit (single Profoto B10, V-flat reflector). Useful for capturing product packaging, branded swag, the laptop sticker collection, and the small details that make blog and social cards feel real.

What's the right time of year to shoot office photography?

Whenever your office has the most natural light — practically, that means May through October in NYC. Winter shoots are still strong; we just lean more on supplementary LED fill. Avoid shoots scheduled within a week of a major office move; the visual chaos shows.

Do you photograph offsites and team retreats?

Yes. Off-site lifestyle photography is one of our most-requested annual engagements — we travel with teams to the Hudson Valley, Hamptons, Hudson, and to Sundance Mountain Resort and similar retreat venues. Travel is billed at cost, no markup.
