Recruiting & Employer Brand Video

( 02 ) Why this matters

75% of candidates research employer brand before applying.

LinkedIn Talent Solutions data is unambiguous: 75% of job seekers research a company's employer brand before they apply, 69% will not accept an offer from a company with a bad reputation regardless of pay, and listings with employer-brand video receive 28% lower turnover and 50% more qualified applicants. That last statistic is from companies that switched on a single careers-page hero video.

Most recruiting video fails one of two ways. It's either a corporate sizzle reel that no candidate believes — too much drone, too much VO, no real people — or it's a Zoom-quality team interview shot on phones that signals 'we don't take this seriously.' We aim for the third option: documentary-quality day-in-the-life storytelling that shows real engineers, real designers, and real managers doing real work.

The deliverable is a 60–90 second careers-page hero, three to five role-specific shorts (engineering, design, ops, sales, leadership), and a library of B-roll for ongoing LinkedIn and Greenhouse posts. Most clients see qualified-applicant rate climb within 30 days of switching the careers page hero on.

( 03 ) What's included

A careers page that earns the click.

Every engagement is fixed-scope and fixed-price. The list below ships with every project regardless of tier.

  • 01 / 8

    Recruiting narrative

Producer-led discovery sessions with People, Eng, and Design leadership to map the candidate questions worth answering on camera.

  • 02 / 8

    On-camera coaching

3–5 role-specific shorts (engineering, design, sales, leadership) each 30–45 seconds, shot documentary-style.

  • 04 / 8

    Hero careers film

60–90 second piece that lives at the top of /careers — the page asset that drives the application click.

  • 05 / 8

    B-roll library

200+ clips of office, hallway, meeting, whiteboard, and outdoor moments — for ongoing LinkedIn, Greenhouse, and Lever posts.

  • 06 / 8

Burned-in captions for autoplay-muted feeds, plus separate SRT files. WCAG-compliant by default.

  • 07 / 8

Pre-cut formats for every major ATS embed: 16:9 hero, 9:16 vertical, 1:1 social, and a 15s sponsored-post teaser.

  • 08 / 8

    Annual refresh

Most clients book a follow-up half-day at month 12 to refresh footage with new hires and updated office.

Does a careers-page video actually move applicant numbers?

Per LinkedIn Talent Solutions, listings with employer-brand video see 50% more qualified applicants on average and 28% lower 12-month turnover. We've measured 2–4x growth in qualified applications across recruiting-video relaunches in the last 24 months — the strongest results come from teams that pair the new video with refreshed Greenhouse / Lever templates.

How is this different from a brand video?

Audience and assets. A brand video addresses customers and investors and lives on the homepage. A recruiting video addresses candidates and lives on /careers, in Greenhouse / Lever embeds, and as the LinkedIn sponsored-post creative behind paid talent campaigns. The shooting style overlaps; the script, casting, and edit are very different.

How do you avoid the corporate sizzle-reel cliché?

We shoot it documentary-style. Real meetings, real whiteboards, real lunch lines. Direction is light — we set up the lighting and let the day happen. Voiceover is rare; on-camera interviews from actual ICs do the talking. The result feels closer to a New York Times mini-doc than to a recruitment ad.

Can engineers and designers say no to being on camera?

Always. We ask in advance through a People-team-managed opt-in. Anyone uncomfortable on camera is shot in B-roll only or skipped entirely. We coach the people who do go on camera so they sound like themselves rather than like an HR script.

Do you handle multi-office shoots?

Yes. Half our recruiting clients have NYC + a second city (SF, Austin, Boston, London). We build multi-city productions to keep one DP and one editor across the series so the look stays consistent across offices.

What ATS / careers platforms have you integrated with?

We deliver crops and embeds tested with Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Ashby, and SmartRecruiters. We also deliver a 9:16 vertical cut tailored to LinkedIn's mobile-first feed and a 15s sponsored-post version for paid talent campaigns.
